19 years of Jukebox Madness
The Jukebox Madness StoryJukebox Madness started way back in 1987, the first of its kind in the country. Run by Jukebox enthusiasts Mike Trussell and Lesley Winward, the show started out very much smaller than the huge event it is today. The first year, even though it had for a weekend the largest collection of jukeboxes in the country, was held in the local village hall in Beenham.
What made the early shows so special was the warm, intimate and friendly atmosphere that brought down the barriers between dealers and public. This ambience we have endeavored to keep throughout all the shows we have hosted, and is one of the reasons why people come back to Jukebox Madness every year. From the village hall in Beenham, we moved to Hounslow, which served as an excellent platform for the show you can see this year.
Although in many respects the Hounslow location was both unique and perfect, we found that the show itself had outgrown the location. It was time to move on...to Ascot, who's excellent facilities enabled us to expand the show to three floors. Ascot was a bit of a risky step for the Show, as the overheads were that much higher. Despite our worries, though, the show's new location was a great success - with both the stand-holders and the public, and it is this success that has allowed us to make the show bigger and better each year - more stands, more attractions and more atmosphere!
And now Jukebox Madness has moved to an exciting new location, Kempton Park.
